In the automotive sector, we are working on the new and further development of media for
energy storage as well as their production and intelligent use. Battery or hydrogen-based
storage technologies are the key to a climate-friendly energy and mobility transition. This is
especially true in networks with volatile renewable energies. One example is B2Go - Battery to
Go, a technology we developed for battery sharing systems for electric cars. If implemented
consistently, B2Go could be the solution for affordable global e-mobility and be integrated into
energy supply networks as a smart grid - as probably the most economical storage solution for
network stabilization.
At Aeronautics & Space we are working on technologies for efficiency-optimized hydrogen
hybrid aircraft engines with fuel cells, e-fans and jet turbines as well as on concepts for
resource extraction and climate engineering with space technology.
In the Medical Technology & Life Science division, we are working on a vaccine technology for
